Speaking Part 2- Exam Tips and Practice

?Important Tips

• You must compare the photos and answer the question.
• Don’t just describe one photo then the other- try to talk about both photos together right from the start.You will not get high marks if you talk about each photo separately.
• If you don’t know a word for something in the photo, don’t panic! Think of another way of describing it, or move onto something else.
• Speculate about why something is happening, or what people are feeling.
• Give reasons for your ideas.

?Comparisons

• DON’T waste time describing every detail in each photo!
• Use a variety of expressions for making comparisons.
• Give reasons for your opinions and explain your ideas.
• Talk about similarities and differences between the photos.
