1- We use the comparative form of adjectives to compare __one__ thing with other. Examples: “The weekend in York is more adventurous than the one in Scotland.”/ “The weekend in York is more exiting than the one in Scotland.”
2- We use the superlative form of adjectives to compare one thing with a lot of things. Examples: “The treehouse adventure weekend is exiting. / “It’s also the most exiting.”
3- To form comparatives and superlatives for short adjectives add: er or est. Use most before superlatives. Examples: cheap/ cheaper / the cheapest.
4- To form comparatives and superlatives for long adjectives DO NOT change the word, add: more and the most before the adjective. Examples: unusual / more unusual / the most unusual
5- iregular adjectives DON’T follow these rules: good / better / the best ; bad / worse / the worst; far / farther / the fartest
