We use the simple past to describe events that happened in the past.
In affirmative sentences regular verbs end in ed. And we use the same past tense form for all subjects.
Many verbs are irregular.They don’t follow any specific rules.You have to learn them individually.
To make negative sentences, we use did not or didn’t + infinitive of the verb.
To make questions we use did + the subject + infinitive form.
For short answers we use did or didn’t. For example: Yes, I did.
